Tafsir of Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:142
﴿أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ الصَّابِرِينَ﴾
Translation of the meaning
Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allāh has not yet made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast?

أي أحسبتم أن تدخلوا الجنة بغير جهاد فتكونوا جاهلين أم لم تحسبوا ذلك فتكونوا مفرطين«بدائع الفوائد» 1/207بل أبلغ من هذا أنه أنكر على من حسب أن يدخل الجنة بغير امتحان له وتكليف يبين به صبره وشكره وأن حكمته تأبى ذلك«شفاء العليل في مسائل القضاء والقدر والحكمة والتعليل» 1/199
